Spike TV has announced the nominees for the 2009 Video Game Awards along with some sneak peeks into the world premieres of some of the most anticipated games of 2010 and 2011.
Voting will be open until Friday, December 11th, so make sure you check out all the nominees and cast a vote for your favorites. You will also be able to read up on some of the video game premieres that will debut on the show. Spike is also promising that most of these premieres will really be announcements for games that have never been seen or heard of. With how fast news tends to travel via the internet these days, that will be a tall order.
The first premiere to be announced is Halo: Reach. This game has been talked about since it was announced in June 2009, but nobody has ever really seen it. Halo: Reach is a prequel to the Halo trilogy and is expected to be out in the fall of 2010.
Spike will also be sharing more details in the coming weeks of other world premieres that will be shown during the awards show. Some of the publishers that are contributing some never-before-seen content are: Microsoft Game Studios, 2K, Activision, Ubisoft, THQ, and a host of others.
The 2009 Video Game Awards will air LIVE on Saturday, December 12th at 8PM in HD.

Well, I went and voted. I have to say that I'm pretty disappointed in some of the nominees.
Anyone else?
