Droid lovers can stop dancing around in anticipation waiting for the 2.1 update to be released. There has been confirmation from Motorola that the long awaited 2.1 update will be coming out this week.
Users have been complaining about no official multitouch on the Motorola Droid…and Google has responded.
It has been weeks since Droid addicts thought they were going to receive an update to Android 2.1 and Flash 10, and there is still no official update date to announce.

With all they hype going on about the Nexus One the past few days, Motorola Droid and Cliq owners were beginning to feel that they would be forgotten. Fear not. Motorola has announced they will be bringing the Droid and the Cliq up to Android 2.1.
Sounds like Google has a huge announcement planned for 1pm Eastern time today and it’s causing a huge stink on the net. Google is finally going to officially announce the release of their phone, the Nexus One.
Verizon has started to silently release an OTA update that fixes some important issues on the Droid. The free “patch” will start arriving on all Droid phone over the next few days and will update the phone’s OS version to 2.0.1. Verizon has targeted a number of bugs across the OS, but mainly promises better stability and battery life.
Last weekend, Solidus (the boyfriend) and I went to our local mall to take a look at the Motorola Droid. Solidus’ Blackberry had taken a beating and he wanted to look at options for a new phone. We were not, and will never be, interested in an iPhone.
Customers of Verizon Wireless will soon be able to get their hands on the Google Android phone called the Droid.
Verizon said the phone will be available starting on Nov. 6th, but for those of you who are impatient, you can go here to preorder the phone. And like most other new phones, it will cost $199 with a two-year contract.
