It has been weeks since Droid addicts thought they were going to receive an update to Android 2.1 and Flash 10, and there is still no official update date to announce.
Verizon is being tight-lipped about when we can expect to receive any kind of update for the Droid. Around January 22nd, a few Droid owners across the country were receiving an update to their existing 2.0.1 OS version, but that quickly stopped. Many thought this was a prelude to 2.1, getting the phone “ready” for the 2.1 update. Droid owners originally received word about the update coming during the January 5th announcement for the Nexus One. Everyone assumed that since the Android 2.1 SDK was quickly released, so would the update, but it still hasn’t come.
The latest rumors, and remember they are just rumors, are stating we can expect an update to 2.1 around February 7-8, but nothing has been confirmed through Verizon. Rumors are also speculating whether Flash really will be a part of the 2.1 update or it will be a completely separate download.
We will keep you updated if we hear anything new.
