Netflix announced on Wednesday that Nintendo Wii users will be able to steam movies and TV shows to their Nintendo Wii consoles.
The feature will be available starting this spring at no additional charge for Netflix subscribers. Wii owners will need to obtain a free instant-streaming disc from Netflix to use the service. The discs can be pre-ordered online for free. Once the disc is obtained, the Wii remote can be used to browse the Netflix categories, rate movies, and fast forward/rewind the media.
If you don’t already have an account with Netflix, you can sign up for a minimum of $9 a month. And remember, the Wii does NOT support HD, so users will only be able to access standard definition movies and shows.
