Gearbox has announced new details on the upcoming downloadable content for Borderlands. And I have one word for you: zombies!
Schedule to be released on November 24th for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game (no word on a release date for the PC), The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned will cost around $10. It sounds like there’s quite a bit of content to play through, too.
The content is supposed to take anywhere from 6-10 hours to play through and will include new enemies, around 50 new quests, 5 new dungeon areas, and new bosses. And you if were getting sick and tired of the dusty desert like I was, the new area will consist of dark, dreary swamps. And don’t forget the zombies. It seems that a Dr. Ned was tasked with keeping the workers of Jakobs Cove alive, but somehow managed to turn them all into zombies.
Since the zombies are not armed with guns, they will attack in large numbers. But, players will have to be careful shooting these hoards down because, even if you blow off body parts, the parts will still try and crawl after you. There will also be some zombies that will explode if they get near you, so try not to let them get too close.
This add-on will not really add upgrades, etc. to the player class, so we hope something like this will be done in the future. It has been confirmed that there will be more content coming in the future for Borderlands, so enjoy the zombies for now and we’ll see what the next add-on will bring.
