After many months of small hints, EA and Visceral Games have officially announced Dead Space 2 is in the works.
EA also released some juicy details about Dead Space 2 and what can be expected from the highly anticipated sequel. The game will again star Isaac Clarke, although no information was released about exactly how that would come about considering the dire situation Isaac found himself in at the end of Dead Space. Players were promised that some of the best parts of the game would be returning. Slicing and dicing of the undead and the challenging zero gravity environments will definitely be a part of the sequel, along with some new characters and tools. Not many details were released about the characters or the new tools/weapons, though.
“The infection continues to spread throughout space and our hero Isaac Clarke is the only person able to contain it. In Dead Space 2, not everything is exactly as it seems. Expect plot twists that will surprise you and a huge cast of twisted, disgusting monsters that are sure to scare the daylights out of you,” said executive producer Steve Papoutsis.
Dead Space 2 will be released for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. It is unknown at this time what the release date for the game will be.
