Bioware has announced that Mass Effect 2, the highly anticipated sequel to Mass Effect, will be available on January 26, 2010. In the game, players will once again steps into the role of Commander Shepard, who will lead a crew across the galaxy on a mission so dangerous, it could potentially be suicidal.
Bioware has been providing little teasers of information about the sequel. First, if you played the first game and still have your character saved, you will be able to use that character to continue the story in Mass Effect 2. Also, there will be some familiar faces from the first chapter that will make an appearance this time around as well. The answer was a tad bit vague on if existing romances would continue in the second game. But, it does sound as if “mating” in some form or another will still be a part of “character development”. We are also getting promises to some combat, AI, and technical system improvements as well. And, of course, everybody always wants new weapons! And to top that off, there will be a fun new exploration vehicle to use when out exploring a planet looking for danger and loot!
Mass Effect 2 will be available on the PC and Xbox 360.
